Blue Mountains Transport Options

10 minutes by car Silvermere Blue Mountains Accommodation – Leura and Katoomba

1. Everglades National Trust Gardens
Head west along the Great Western Highway (about 2km) towards Katoomba. A left hand turn clearly marked Everglades can be seen just before the Paul Sorensen Bridge. Keep following these signs until you reach one of the most famous gardens in the Mountains. You can picnic here or visit their coffee shop. Don’t’ miss the grotto and a visit to the Art Deco House. An entrance fee is charged.

2. Gordon Falls
From Silvermere Blue Mountains accommodation head west along the Great Western Highway (about 4 km) towards Katoomba. Turn left into Leura and drive through the village to the end of this road, passing the Toy and Train Museum on your left. Continue to the end of the road. Park here for a short 10 minute return walk to Gordon Falls Lookout. There is a picnic area and playground.

This is where you can start the Prince Henry Cliff Walk which takes you around to the Three Sisters.

3. Leura Cascades
After going through Leura Mall keep going down this road and turn right into Cliff Drive approximately a kilometre after the village of Leura. On Cliff Drive turn right to Leura Cascades. Park here for a pleasant easy walk or you can carry on for a much harder walk into the bottom of the valley or the Prince Henry Cliff Walk. Another small picnic area here with a few swings. 4. Katoomba
You can avoid the day tourists and still experience spectacular Katoomba be descending into the Jamieson Valley at Leura or from Narrow Neck (the golden stairway), and then walk to the lower level of the Scenic railway or new Sceniscender and take a ride to the top. Taxis and buses are available to return you to your car or to Silvermere Blue Mountains accommodation. Maps of the Jamieson Valley are on the guest information desk.
